“Reflections on Color / Color upon Reflection”
This show featured Terry Wise’s works and concurrently showed the impressive glass sculpture of Nathan Hoogs and Elizabeth Crawford!
Terry Wise: “My paintings hover somewhere between reality and fantasy. Still life remains my favorite, though not only, genre. My love of textiles, and training as a textile designer, is often apparent, especially in my use of block printed repeat patterns throughout my paintings as a means of creating texture and warmth and depth of color.
There is so much in our contemporary world to make us feel terrible, and yet there is so much beauty, as well. I want my paintings to make me and all viewers feel some joy.”

“Visions on the Spectrum”
This show featured the work of renowned artist Esther Brokaw and the work of the College Internship Program (CIP) student artists. The gallery also presented the work of the 2011 SEDF National Student Art Contest winners.
Esther Brokaw: “I am an untrained artist who has created a collection of oil paintings, watercolors, and pastels. Each painting I do reflects an unusual focus to color and detail. I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome in 2004. I recently went public with this information in order to share my work and my process for creating art more fully with others. My work has been shown in galleries and in other venues throughout the US.”
August 12 – September 20, 2011
Michael McManmon, Tracy Squires, and Robert Rombiero present: “Awakenings”
Michael McManmon: “My art symbolizes my personal transformation since I was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome eight years ago. Prior to diagnosis, I was unable to step out of the box, had been doing pen, and ink drawings my entire life.
“After the diagnosis, I started to work on my cognitive flexibility and allowed myself to experience new things and one of them was color! All the work in this show was accomplished in the last three years and shows my experimentation in different styles and elements.”
Tracy Squires: “ My passion is painting and photography. The inspiration for my paintings often comes from the photographs I take. When I draw and paint from my own photographs, a strong connection occurs, allowing an innate inner creative process to surface.
“The focus of my work is nature; drawing flowers and birds as captured by my camera lens. I refer to myself as someone with a passion and desire to “create” and rarely use the actual word “artist” to describe what I do.”
Robert Rombiero: “I taste, see, feel, love, and share life with everyone and everything! It is all connected in some way or some form. In spirit, everything is one.
This is the philosophy that I try to portray through my artwork. As I create metal sculptures from of my paintings, a third dimension emerges. All my work comes from within and portrays a strong life force.
As you view my work, I hope you will experience these strong emotions too! I have had several gallery shows throughout Berkshire County and my works sells throughout the US.”
